Week 6 voting begins a day late because the FTL Commissioner went on a bender over the weekend. Rumors that he pilfered league resources and was on his way to Haiti under an assumed name and false passport were soon proven false when he was spotted by a reporter in a Bemidji Caribou Coffee holding what looked to be a serious meeting with two deers and a raccoon.
After an intervention, he has agreed to resume FTL management responsibilities. We apologize for the delay.
In other news, Charity Jones is drafted twice into two different productions of Agamemnon. Apparently, she would make an excellent Clytemnestra. Someone should make it happen.
Now, vote.
Serpent's Son
Presented by Segue Productions
Cast and CrewAgamemnon: Clarence WethernClytemnestra: Lindsay Marcy Aegisthius: David McMenomy Cassandra: Jane Froiland Director: Barbe Marshall |
ConceptSerpent’s Son is the grimy, grungy and gruesome version of the Orestia myth. This production would go with a younger cast to show the universality of the "drama." Their physical agility and stamina that would be highlighted with this production incorporating the styles of Antonin Artaud and Steven Berkoff in order to reach the visceral experience that this story deserves. Having seen Clarence and Lindsay in two productions this last year I know that the chemistry would kick the energy and passion required into high gear. David would make sure that Aegisthius was likeable (a difficult task indeed). Jane would provide the eeriness and tension required for Cassandra (I mean did you see her as Ariel in the Tempests – I didn’t sleep for days). Barbe has a lot of experience with this type of material. She is about to start rehearsing True Love. |
The Agamemnon
Presented by Alan Berks and Company
Cast and CrewClytemnestra: Charity JonesAgamemnon: Bob Davis Aegisthus: Sean Hamilton Cassandra: Sonja Parks Set Design: Bain Boehlke |
ConceptA modern adaptation in the home of the Secretary of Defense. A hyper-realistic set with lots of videos as a reminder that we actually are still fighting a war in Asia. I've actually written this, so if you like the cast perhaps you could see them in it one day. |
Agamemnon
Presented by A Johnny Midtown Stunt
Cast and CrewAgamemnon: James WilliamsClytemnestra: Charity Jones Aegisthus: Peter Hansen Cassandra: a twelve-year-old girl Director: John Middleton |
ConceptMr. Middleton's production will endeavor to recreate something of the spirit of 5th Century BCE Athens by utilizing a rock band as chorus. The audience will encircle the performers and be plied with plenty of wine and ripe figs while the band's primal drumming gets everyone's hearts beating in unison. |
Agamemnon
Presented by Levi likes to watch
Cast and CrewEric Webster: AgamemnonLinda Sue Anderson: Clytemnestra Nathan Surprenant: Aegisthus Lauren Anderson: Cassandra Marion Mcclinton: Director |
ConceptThis cast is made up purely of people Levi enjoys watching onstage pretty much no matter what the role. |
Agamemnon
Presented by All Segues Topple Over Eventually
Cast and CrewAgamemnon: Charlie HubbellClytemnestra: Zoe Benston Aegisthus: Ben Thietje Cassandra: Melissa Anne Murphy Director: Amy Rummenie |
ConceptA Walking Shadow Theatre Company alumni production. Take these four actors, throw them in a pot with the combined aesthetics of the various shows they've appeared in for WSTC (CALIGULA, AMAZONS AND THEIR MEN, FAT PIG, and THE TRANSDIMENSIONAL COURIERS UNION, among others), give Amy Rummenie a big fucking spoon, and stir. I'm seeing togas, leather, filmmaking, regicide, and Ben Thietje's unique and lovable brand of prickishness. |
