Review of “Comedy of Errors by William Shakespeare” posted by Jon Skaalen on July 8
Seeing Shakespeare in a park in summer brings me as close as I can imagine to what the Globe patrons must have experienced a few hundred years ago. This summer's "Comedy of Errors" at Century College shows the Shakespeare & Company at their best, filling a lovely summer evening with 90 minutes of romping splendidly thru this silly show of mistaken identity. Director George Roesler and his colorfully-costumed, nimble cast extend their playing area from the set to the lawnchair-comforted and picnic-basket-toting audience as they pull out every innuendo that wry glances, snappy movement and playful collaboration can work on an audience looking for a bit of magic. My little international contingent found ourselves wonderfully entertained. Catch one of the remaining shows, and bring some fresh strawberries for the wandering actors.
